Distance between Pushkar and Sambhar Lake:

By Car – It takes 2.5 to 3.5 hours journey of Pushkar to Ajmer via Dudu to Sambhar. It is a short drive of 30 minutes through a mountain pass and then a long stretch on NH48. At Dudu, one needs to take a left toward Naraina and Sambhar Lake.
By Bus – A lot of luxury buses do not ply directly, but a state bus can be availed from Ajmer/Pushkar and get down at Dudu or Phulera. One can hire a local cab or an auto rickshaw.
By Train – The nearest railway station is at Phulera Junction, around 15 kms from the lake. There are frequent trains between Ajmer and Phulera; hence,e it is a realistic and economical option for lone travellers.
About Sambhar Lake:
Sambhar Salt Lake is a massive Salt Lake located in the vicinity of the meeting point of Jaipur, Ajmer, and Nagaur districts. During the monsoon season, the Sambhar Salt Lake spreads to an extent of around 190 to 230 square kilometres and is a Ramsar Site or a wetland.
The lake finds a mention in the Mahabharata in the kingdom of King Brishparva. The goddess Shakambhari Devi is a form of Goddess Durga, kind to the area by transforming the dense forest into a land of precious metals. As the locals are afraid that this wealth could generate greed among them, leading to a war among them, the goddess changed the precious metals into salt to bring a sustainable living to the area, and accordingly, a 2500-year-old temple of Shakambhari Mata still exists on its southern side.
Thousands of pink flamingoes migrate to Sambhar, andit is amongst the most striking sights. During November and February, it becomes a principal breeding ground for pink flamingoes, pelicans, storks, and other Northern Asian migratory birds. Its unique colouration, which ranges from deep red to pink, is created by specific algae and bacterial presence in Sambhar, also the principal source of food for flamingos.
Devayani Kund is a group of temples and a holy tank, located in the vicinity of Sambhar. It is usually known as “Little Pushkar” due to its religious and stylistic similarities. According to myth, this spot marks the place where King Yayatri married Devayani, the daughter of Sage Shukracharya.
Sambhar Lake Festival - 
The Rajasthan Tourism Department conducts a Sambhar Lake Festival, a delightful 3 to 5-day cultural extravaganza usually held during December or January every year. The festival is an attempt to showcase the region’s natural splendour and rich heritage by means of a perfectly blended set of traditional and contemporary events. It involves breathtaking folk music performances under a night sky, kite-flying competitions, and guided cultural visits to the salt colonies. One of the most famous events is the “Salt Train Excursion, taking you into a traditional narrow-gauge train used for carrying salt.
